Joey has been teaching foraging classes for places like Franklin Park Conservatory for the past 3 years, and is excited to get students out of the kitchen to learn more about edible invasive plants in their natural habitats. Joey will share all of the tips you need to know to start your own foraging journey and will stress ID and preparation for plants like Autumn Olive, Garlic Mustard, and Wineberry. We will also tour research happening at Darby Creek where Joey leads a project detecting what other critters might be eating on invasives. The overall hike will be short (1-1.5 miles total over 90 minutes) and relatively flat. Please wear appropriate shoes as the trail may be muddy!
