Ancient Stone Tool Workshop

Come to the Galiano Museum Sunday Nov 16 for your opportunity to learn how ancient stone tools were made. Colin Grier, a Professor of Archaeology at Washington State University and Galiano resident, will be providing a live demo of how to “flint knap” to create the kinds of tools humans and their ancestors have used for almost 3 million years. Plus, he will describe and demonstrate the process of stone tool making behind many of the finely crafted spear and arrow points that were made and used by Indigenous peoples across the Salish Sea.
