Star System returns To Galiano island for our 2nd annual Star System Fest at the Yellowhouse Arts Centre.  Celebrating the Music and Philosophies of Visionary Jazz Composer and conceptualist Sun Ra, This Cosmic Jazz Orchestra explores the healing potential of sound through deep grooves, haunting melodies and celestial textures.

This year we have added an early (pre dinner time) family set for those who can’t make the full set later in the Evening.  
5pm - 45 min Family set, Danceable and groovy good times for all! Bring the kids, bring some percussion!  Let’s get COSMIC!
8:00 pm Full set. The band will perform a full set of Sun Ra Classics, taking the listener on a journey through sound to Saturn and back.

This reoccurring festival is being hosted on the unceded, asserted & shared traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwlitsum and other Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples, Coast Salish Peoples of Galiano, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island.
