- **Event Description**: Curtain Players conducts open auditions for its productions. Roles are not cast in advance, and, unless specified otherwise in the role's description, are open to all without regard to race or ethnicity. Casting decisions are made by the director and a casting committee comprised of (at minimum) a member of the theatre board, a general member of the organization, and individuals of the director's choosing.

Auditions will consist of two contrasting monologues from an early modern work (either from Shakespeare or one of his contemporaries), as well as cold readings from the script. Monologues should not last more than two minutes combined, and at least one should be verse.

We are looking for actors with musical talent (especially if they play an instrument), so in lieu of one of their monologues, they may perform 16 bars of a song instead. The whole audition should not exceed two minutes so we have time for cold reads.

Requests for an early audition for Twelfth Night must be made no later than August 16, 2026.
