Join us on Friday 24th of April for the official announcement of this year’s Braw Lad and Braw Lass from the Burgh Chambers balcony at 8pm!

The President of the Gathering Allan Doyle, will announce and invite the new Braw Lad and Lass to say a few words before they lead us in singing “Braw Braw Lads” and “Gala’s Braw Braw Lasses” alongside their Attendants Ex-Braw Lad Cameron, Ex-Braw Lass Hannah, Ex-Braw Lad Jamie and Ex-Braw Lass Rebecca.

Following the announcement the Braw Lad, Braw Lass and their Attendants will make their way to the front of the Burgh Chambers, where a pupil from Burgh Primary School will present the Braw Lass with a bouquet of flowers.

The Principals will then dance The Dashing White Sergeant with children from every primary school across the Galashiels catchment area. 

There will then be a procession along to Bank Street Gardens before the celebrations continue at The Ex-Braw Lads’ and Lasses’ Association’s Declaration Night Social in the Volunteer Hall.
