Mini Bookcases (for all ages!) craft workshop in Montgomery County, Md.

Mini bookcases have been a huge hit with everyone — thank you to those who’ve already joined us to make them. We thought it would be fun to squeeze in one more bookcase session before the holidays, and this time, we’re welcoming book and miniature lovers of all ages (well, 7 and up). We recently did this project at a mini camp, and we loved watching kids get creative with their shelves. They didn’t want to stop adding bits and pieces to their bookcases. We'd love to see families creating together!

In this workshop, you can design your shelves to commemorate some favorite reads or just create your dream reading nook, full of things that bring you joy. We’ll provide winter- and holiday-themed options, as well as kid-friendly embellishments (though anyone is welcome to use them!).

This workshop includes:

— A 5-by-5-inch bookcase ready for you to customize and embellish.

— Lots of tiny books! We’ll have some mini versions of actual books — contemporary and classic — and some with plain or patterned decorative covers.

— Miniature decorative items like coffee mugs, picture frames, food, toys, holiday decor and more.

— A buffet of supplies so you can embellish your shelves; create items like potted plants or flowers in vases; or whatever else you can dream up to make your perfect space.

— Plus, you’re welcome to bring any tiny trinkets or photos to add your own touches.

This is a perfect family activity, and a lovely way to spend a few relaxing hours during the busy holiday season.

This workshop is open to crafters ages 7 and up, but kids under 11 should be accompanied by an adult.
