To support continued opportunities for older youth, we have also reserved three spots for participants ages 14–21. This unique partnership combines DSNMC's commitment to expanding inclusive recreational opportunities with SwimLabs' expertise in adaptive swim instruction. Together, we're creating a program that promotes water safety, confidence, independence, and lifelong swimming skills in a supportive, individualized environment. Program Overview Each swimmer will participate in a 12-week session led by SwimLabs' experienced instructors using a modified curriculum designed to meet each child's individual learning style and developmental needs. Instruction focuses on: Water safety and comfort in the water Swim readiness and stroke development Confidence and independence Coordination, endurance, and overall fitness Socialization in a supportive learning environment To ensure individualized instruction, classes are limited to three swimmers per group and are organized by both age and swimming ability. Assessment & Class Placement The program will begin with an initial assessment on Sunday, September 13, 2026. During this assessment, SwimLabs instructors will evaluate each swimmer's: Current swimming skills Comfort in the water Communication style Individual support needs Following the assessment, SwimLabs will assign each swimmer to a consistent weekly class that best matches their skill level. Weekly lesson times will be determined by SwimLabs based on each swimmer's placement. Sessions are 30 minutes. The timeslot that your family member will receive is between 3-5pm. All classes will take place on Sunday from 3-5pm throughout the duration of the program. Program Dates September 13 – December 13, 2026 No classes will be held Thanksgiving weekend. Registration Registration will be coordinated through DSNMC. Interested families should complete the DSNMC registration process and indicate whether they are applying for scholarship assistance. Once registration closes, DSNMC will provide SwimLabs with the final participant roster. All enrolled families will then receive instructions from SwimLabs to: Create a SwimLabs participant profile Complete any required waivers and registration forms Receive assessment information and final weekly lesson assignments Program Cost The discounted program tuition is $480 per swimmer for the full 12-week session. Partial Scholarship Families receive financial assistance from DSNMC to reduce the cost of participation based on demonstrated need.
