The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are planning improvements at the T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex at 1717 SE 15th St., and we’d like to hear from you.
Share your ideas by completing the community survey and/or attending the first community workshop.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Share how they would like to see the T.B. McPherson Center renovated to support the activities and events they want; and
Provide feedback on the outdoor areas and amenities in the complex to help guide future park improvements.
About the project
The T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex is a 15-acre community park in southeast Gainesville featuring a recreation center, pool, courts, ball fields, playground, trails, picnic areas, fitness stations and parking.
Although it offers many amenities, the park is one of the city’s least used. To help the park reach its full potential, the city is creating a 10-year vision plan guided by community input. The project focuses on renovating the T.B. McPherson Center while planning future improvements across the entire recreation complex.
