NCFBS Presents: Jasper Smitty with Corey Hall

The North Central Florida Blues Society is excited to present two younger rising Blues performers making their voices heard, both under the age of 40!



Jesse Smith, aka "Jasper Smitty" is a North Florida native returning home after spending the last thirteen years in New Orleans, Louisiana. This January, Jasper Smitty impressively reached the semi-finals of the 2026 International Blues Challenge in

Memphis. Jesse started to perform professionally at the age of 14. Jesse studied Jazz Saxophone at the College of Music at Florida State University, which led to many connections that gave way to a healthy career of touring and performance as a session artist, sideman, and front man based out of New Orleans and New York City. Jesse is back home getting back to his roots, melding his own style with all the music he's found along the way.



Hailing from the Gulf Coast region of Florida, singer-songwriter Corey Hall strikes a harmonious balance between celebrating the roots of Blues, drawing inspiration from legends like Mississippi John Hurt to R.L. Burnside, and crafting his own unique brand of music. Through creative exploration, he’s found avenues to cultivate his own voice within the Blues genre, representing his profound love for this musical tradition. Blending past and future in his performances, he leaves his audiences enriched, captivated, and looking for more of the Old Time sound.
