The entire North Georgia community is invited to join Shalom b'Harim for our 2025 Hanukkah Festival on Sunday, December 21 - the last night of Hanukkah - at 4:00 p.m. at Unity of Gainesville.
Everyone is encouraged to bring your children and grandchildren to enjoy a wide range of creative activities. Of course, grownups can participate, too.
Once we gather, we'll begin with a brief service led by Rabbi Matan Peled.
Then, we'll have the following activities:
• Building "Eco-Hanukkiyot" out of natural materials
• Making Hanukkiyot out of construction paper
• Hanukkah coloring pages
• Playing dreidel (There will be gelt!)
• Decorating ceramic tiles
• Making candle-shaped suncatchers
We're also hoping to write Hanukkah cards for deployed Jewish military members.
Following the activities, we'll all light our Hanukkiyot (menorahs) together. Please bring yours - along with a supply of candles.
We'll be having a dairy potluck dinner following the festivities, so we would appreciate it if you would use the link to register in advance and tell us what you'd like to bring.
In support of our ongoing relationship with Georgia Mountain Food Bank, we're requesting canned fruit once again this month. They are in "desperate need," we're told. We encourage you to be generous.
Come celebrate Hanukkah with Shalom b'Harim!
