Ethics: Communication in Polarized Times with Dr. Dava Michelson

In this course we will explore how to navigate emotionally charged and polarized communications in the treatment room in order to support a safe and effective healing experience for both client and practitioner.

Through both lecture and class discussion, we will explore internal and external triggers which can ignite misunderstanding and conflict within the treatment room. We will examine some case studies involving a break down in communications, through transference and countertransference, and the movement or blockage of Qi. We will identify various options of response to identify and diffuse potentially extreme emotions, with a focus on the virtues of the five
elements.
