- **Event Description**: 2026 National Team Selection Qualifiers.
The event runs under the auspices of Botswana Chess Federation and will run from the 19th December 2025-20th December 2025  at Palapye,BIUST, Palapye.

This is the 1st Qualifying stage and is open to all players.

Only 20 players from the Open section and 15 players from Women will qualify to the 2nd Qualifiers.The Qualifying women will be joined by our three( 3) Elite Scholars, WFM Naledi Marape, WCM Refilwe Pitso and WCM Arona Moshoboro .

Tournament details:

Number of Rounds:7

Time Control: 1 hour with 5 seconds increment.

1. Direct Encounter

2. Bucholz 

   3 .No.of wins

Only top 20 players from the Open section shall qualify for the second Knock Out Stage.  

Registration closes on the 18th December 2025 at 2000hrs.

NOTE WELL;

Accommodation is offered by BIUST at a fee of P150.00 per night  and those lodging should make payments by Wednesday 17th December 2025 to either Thompson Modisane or Kebalepile Francis to enable the Federation to process payment to the Host on time.(plis liaise with them for proper banking details).
