Exhibition and Book Launch "The Bauer Brothers: The Story of Three Boys from Valtice"

We are delighted that our 2023 initiative to bring "home" the legacy of the world-renowned botanical artists Franz, Ferdinand, and Joseph Bauer has culminated in a remarkable publication.

The book "The Bauer Brothers: The Story of Three Boys from Valtice! —written and illustrated by four talented teenage artists, Anastasia and Maria Komarova, and Klára and Veronika Kružíková, led by their former teacher and artist, Zdenka Benešová Žďárská— was recently released in Czech and English editions.

Experience the Czech tradition of "křest knihy" — the ceremonial "baptism" of the book with Champagne (yes, you get to drink it too! ). :-)

• Meet the authors and sponsors as they share the story behind the book.
• Enjoy a live performance of "Bridges", an original composition by Petr Růžička (violin), accompanied by Roman Motyčák (percussion), created especially for this occasion.

• Special guest Dr. H. Walter Lack, former director of the Berlin Botanical Garden, mentor and author of the book’s foreword, will be in attendance.

English interpretation will be provided.

• Explore an exhibition of over 100 original illustrations, displayed across several rooms furnished with designs by Helena Dařbujánová.
• The exhibition will remain open until December 2025.
