This hands-on short course introduces the fundamentals of welding in a safe and supportive workshop environment. Delivered over four evening sessions, it is designed for beginners and hobbyists with no prior experience.
You will gain practical skills in three core welding processes, including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and Stick (Manual Metal Arc), while learning how to operate equipment, apply basic techniques, and troubleshoot common issues.
With an emphasis on safety awareness, confidence building, and adaptability across different welding methods, and a strong practical focus, this short course is ideal for those wanting to explore welding for personal interest, upskilling, or as a pathway to further study. This is a non-accredited short course.
To enrol in this course, you must be aged 17 years or older, and be one of the following:
Participants are required to supply their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this course, including welding helmet, safety glasses, welding gloves, flame-resistant shirt, leather boots, hearing protection, and a respirator or dust mask (P2).
