- **Event Description**: Der Name „Ministry of Silly Ska“ leitet sich von Monty Python‘s Sketch „Ministry of Silly Walks“ ab. Diesem nachempfunden, kommuniziert die Band über Hompage/Flyer etc. als offizielles Ministerium der Musikregierung. Daraus leitet sich auch die „offizielle“ gesetzliche Grundlage der Band – das „SkaGB“ – ab. Auftritte sind deshalb im festgelegten Sprachgebrauch „Bürgerversammlungen“. Zudem haben alle Bandmitglieder ministerielle Aufgaben.
„Ministry of Silly Ska“ covered bislang ausschließlich bekannte Musikstücke und interpretiert sie in der Musikstilrichtung des Skas neu. Die Band bedient sich dabei u. a. internationaler wie deutschsprachiger Popmusik (z. B. Britney Spears & Dschinghis Khan), Hard Rock-/Metalmusik (z. B. Iron Maiden) oder der Klassik bzw. Filmmusik (z. B. Mozart & Hans Zimmer). Im Unterschied zu anderen Skabands orientiert sich „Ministry of Silly Ska“ mehr an der Vorgabe des Originalstücks als an den traditionellen Vorgaben des Skas: So werden Musikstücke mit unterschiedlichen Taktvorgaben nicht in einen 4/4-Takt umgeschrieben, sondern das Element „Ska“ auf den „fremden“ Takt angewandt. Die gewollt dominierende Musikstilrichtung des Skas wird unterstützt von Reggae-, Latin-, Rock- und Orchesterelementen. Dabei legt die Band höchsten Wert auf ausschließlich live und instrumentell erzeugte Töne und Soundeffekte.
