The Weardale Showcase Selection is a developing live music slot celebrating local talent from across the valley.

Weardale Open Mic has been invited to programme a two hour window on the main stage at the Weardale Agricultural Show. Rather than booking acts from outside the area, the intention is to fill this slot with musicians and bands from within our own community.

This project is very much in development.
Slot timings, format and final acts are still to be confirmed.

Over the coming months, interested acts will put themselves forward through Weardale Open Mic sessions. Structured showcase evenings will give performers the opportunity to play full 20 to 30 minute sets. From these sessions we will curate 3 to 4 strong and reliable acts to represent Weardale on the main stage.

The final line up will be announced once the selection process is complete.

This is about progression from pub stage to main stage.
It is about raising the standard together.
It is about giving local musicians something real to work towards.
