- **Event Description**: In celebration of The United States' 250th Birthday we are pleased to announce we are hosting an amateur photography contest! The theme, 'What is America?', encourages participants to showcase what America means to them through the art of photography. Photographs will be on exhibition at the Frontenac Public Library Thursday, July 23, through Saturday, July 25.

-Contest is open to amateur photographers in Frontenac and the surrounding communities and entries should strive to embody the theme ‘What is America?’. Limit five entries per participant. 

-Entries must be printed and 8"x10" in size; framing is not required. Unframed photos will be mounted on white photo boards.

-Entries may be black and white, color, or sepia. 

-Entries will be judged blind in one of three age-based categories: Children, Teens, and Adults, with a prize awarded to the first-place winners of each category. A Fan Favorite award voted on by exhibition visitors will be awarded to one photograph. 

-Entry forms will be available to pick up at the library and must be included with the submitted photograph(s).

Participants may drop their entries off at the library during regular business hours beginning Monday, July 20th. The deadline to submit your photograph(s) for prize consideration is close of business, Wednesday, July 22. Entrants may pick up their photographs on Monday, July 27 during regular business hours.
