Join TEDxBreckenridge for "The Soft Science of Opening a Ski Area," a behind-the-scenes look at the science and strategy that allow Arapahoe Basin to consistently be one of the first ski areas in North America to open each year.
Louis Skowyra, Vice President of Mountain Operations at Arapahoe Basin, will take you behind the curtain to reveal the intensive operational work required to deliver early-season turns at 10,530+ feet. This is a deep dive into the unique challenges of making winter happen.
Tickets are free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person to help cover the cost of drinks, snacks, and venue expenses. We believe ideas should be accessible to everyone, so please don’t let cost be a barrier — your presence and curiosity matter most.
Seating is limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot early. Doors open at 5:45 PM, and the program begins promptly at 6:00 PM.
