- **Event Description**: The What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of churches will host a free concert by the three-dozen-member Fountain Arts Center Youth Choir of Belmont, along with the brass ensemble, Quintet Six, at 6:30PM, Friday, April 11, at the United Church of Friendship, 31 East Main Street.

The event is the first of several during A Season of Reflection leading up to Resurrection Weekend, also known as Easter, on Saturday-Sunday, April 19-20.

The performance, "Let the Praises Abound," will include "I Sing Because I’m Happy," "Be Not Afraid," and "Let the Praise Go Round" by the youth, and "Hosanna," "Victorious Love," and "Trumpet Voluntary" by the ensemble.

The Fountain Arts Center groups previously provided a large-attendance Friendship Christmas concert, also hosted by the alliance of churches.

Other Season of Reflection activities include:

 -- Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13: Community churches, at weekly services, will observe Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem during Palm Sabbath services at the Followers of the Way – Nile Community Church and Palm Sunday observances at other Friendship churches.

 -- Friday, April 18 – Noon at the First United Methodist Church, 21 West Main Street: Good Friday Service, involving a time of prayer and reflection at the start of the time period referred to as The Three Hours’ Agony when Jesus hung on the cross.

 -- Friday, April 18 – 5:30PM at the Mission House outreach center, 28-32 East Main Street, site of the former St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, offices and rectory: A ceremony will be held, placing three new permanent crosses in the circle in front of the complex, commemorating Jesus hanging on a cross at Calvary, also known as Golgotha, with criminals on each side of him.

The placement will be followed a 6PM alliance of churches Good Friday service across the street at the United Church of Friendship.

 -- Saturday-Sunday, April 19-20: Resurrection Sabbath or Resurrection Sunday services at individual churches, proclaiming Jesus Christ having risen from the dead.

 -- Sunday, April 20 – 7AM at the Friendship NY Bible Baptist Church, 43 West Main Street: A joint sunrise service in commemoration of the discovery of Jesus’ empty tomb will be followed by a free continental breakfast.
