Friday Harbor Film Festival’s Best of the Fest brings audience-favorite and award-winning documentaries from the 2025 festival back to the screen—free of charge—on San Juan and Lopez Islands, with filmmaker conversations that deepen the experience.


"Girl Climber" follows elite rock climber Emily Harrington as she attempts a career-defining 24-hour ascent of Yosemite’s El Capitan. When a near-fatal fall forces her to confront the risks she’s taking—both on the wall and in life—the film becomes an intimate portrait of ambition, resilience, and breaking barriers in a male-dominated sport.

"Girl Climber" will also screen at the Lopez Island Grange on Saturday, February 21, 7 PM.  Both screenings will be followed by a pre-recorded interview with director Jon Glassberg.
