- **Event Name**: The Art of the Tea Ceremony: An Immersive Tea Experience
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 18 Oct, 2026 at 01:30 pm – Sun, 18 Oct, 2026 at 03:00 pm (-07:00)
- **Event Description**: An Intimate Japanese Tea Ceremony Experience
Limited to 8 Guests

Experience the Japanese tea ceremony in a uniquely personal and immersive setting at Shinzen Friendship Garden.

Unlike our traditional tea ceremony demonstrations, where guests observe the ceremony, this exclusive experience invites you to participate fully in the ritual and traditions of Japanese tea. With only eight guests, participants will have the opportunity to engage more deeply with the ceremony while learning about the meaning, etiquette, and symbolism behind each step.

Guided through the experience, guests will discover the thoughtful movements, seasonal elements, preparation and presentation of matcha, and traditions of hospitality that make the Japanese tea ceremony a centuries-old art form.

This intimate experience is ideal for those who want to go beyond observing and gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty, mindfulness, and cultural significance of Japanese tea.

Important Participation Information
This is a traditional, participatory tea ceremony experience. Guests will be seated on the floor for portions of the ceremony and should be comfortable sitting cross-legged for an extended period of time. Participants must also be able to safely navigate stairs to access the tea ceremony space.

Please consider these physical requirements when registering for this experience.

Only 8 spaces are available for this special experience.

Your participation also supports Shinzen Friendship Garden and helps us continue providing cultural and educational experiences for our community.

Pre-registration is required. Register at shinzenjapanesegarden.org
