Pimp Bizkit is a dynamic tribute band based in Los Angeles, California, dedicated to celebrating the iconic sound and energy of the American nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit. Formed in 2024, by Raanen “Raan Otto” Bozzio, son of legendary drummer Terry Bozzio(Frank Zappa, Missing Persons), along with prominent LA session musicians, “Sean Durst” Giebitz, “Jack Borland” Glazer, and “Curt Rivers” Remington—who shared a deep appreciation for Limp Bizkit’s genre-defining blend of rap, metal, and high-octane live performances. Pimp Bizkit quickly carved out a niche in the Southern California music scene, delivering electrifying shows that capture the raw intensity, rebellious spirit, and nostalgic vibe of the late ‘90s and early 2000s nu-metal era.
Formation and Founding Members:
Pimp Bizkit came together in early 2024 when drummer Raanen Bozzio, vocalist Sean Giebitz, guitarist Jack Glazer, and bassist Curt Remington bonded over their mutual love for Limp Bizkit’s discography, particularly albums like *Three Dollar Bill, Y’all* (1997), *Significant Other* (1999), and *Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water* (2000). Each member brought a unique set of skills and influences to the project, united by a desire to pay homage to the Jacksonville, Florida band known for its provocative lyrics, infectious energy, and theatrical live shows.
Raanen Bozzio aka RAAN OTTO (Drums): As the founder and rhythmic backbone of Pimp Bizkit, Bozzio channels the versatile and funky drumming style of Limp Bizkit’s John Otto. As the son of legendary drummer Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons) Raanen had been surrounded ny music since birth. A seasoned drummer with a background in rock, metal, and funk, Bozzio’s precise yet explosive style drives the band’s high-energy performances.
Sean Giebitz aka SEAN DURST(Vocals): Emulating the charismatic and confrontational vocal delivery of Fred Durst, Giebitz brings swagger and intensity to the stage. His ability to replicate Durst’s rap-rock flow and engage audiences with commanding presence makes him a natural frontman.
Jack Glazer aka JACK BORLAND (Guitar): Taking on the role inspired by Wes Borland’s innovative guitar work, Glazer combines heavy riffs, experimental textures, and a flair for the theatrical. His creative approach to recreating Borland’s iconic soundscapes adds authenticity to Pimp Bizkit’s performances.
Curt Remington aka CURT RIVERS (Bass): Anchoring the band with groove-heavy bass lines, Remington mirrors the style of Limp Bizkit’s Sam Rivers. His tight, funky playing provides the foundation for the band’s aggressive yet danceable sound.
Musical Style and Performances:
Pimp Bizkit’s performances are a love letter to Limp Bizkit’s chaotic and cathartic live shows. The band meticulously recreates the nu-metal giants’ signature sound, blending crunchy guitar riffs, hip-hop-infused vocals, and pulsating rhythms. Their set lists span Limp Bizkit’s extensive catalog, featuring fan favorites like “Break Stuff,” “Nookie,” “Rollin’,” and “My Way,” alongside deeper cuts for diehard fans. The band also pays homage to Limp Bizkit’s visual aesthetic, incorporating elements like bold stage outfits and high-energy theatrics to evoke the spirit of the original act.
Since their formation, Pimp Bizkit has performed at various Los Angeles venues, including clubs, and regional festivals, earning a reputation for their infectious energy and ability to get crowds moving. Their shows are marked by a sense of nostalgia, appealing to both longtime Limp Bizkit fans and younger audiences discovering nu-metal’s enduring appeal. The band’s commitment to authenticity—down to the attitude, sound, and stage presence—sets them apart in the tribute band circuit.
Mission and Impact:
Pimp Bizkit was born out of a desire to keep the spirit of nu-metal alive in an era where the genre has seen a resurgence in popularity. By channeling Limp Bizkit’s unapologetic attitude and genre-blending sound, the band aims to introduce the music to new generations while providing a nostalgic escape for fans who grew up with the original band. Their performances are not just concerts but celebrations of a cultural moment when nu-metal dominated airwaves and redefined rock music.
In their short time together, Pimp Bizkit has begun to build a loyal following in Los Angeles, with plans to expand their reach to other parts of California and beyond. The band actively engages with fans through social media, sharing behind-the-scenes content, performance clips, and updates on upcoming shows, fostering a community around their shared love for Limp Bizkit’s legacy.
Future Aspirations:
As of 2025, Pimp Bizkit is focused on growing their presence in the tribute band scene, with goals of touring regionally and potentially collaborating with other tribute acts to create nu-metal-themed events or festivals. The band is also exploring the idea of incorporating original material inspired by Limp Bizkit’s sound, though their primary mission remains to honor the music that brought them together.
Pimp Bizkit stands as a testament to the enduring influence of Limp Bizkit and the nu-metal movement. Through their electrifying performances and unwavering dedication, RAAN OTTO, SEAN DURST, JACK BORLAND and CURT RIVERS are ensuring that the rebellious, genre-defying spirit of their musical heroes continues to resonate with audiences in Los Angeles and beyond.
