Joseph Keckler’s Golden Hour returns to ArtYard in the new year for an unforgettable evening of daring storytelling and performance. This double bill features two celebrated artists whose fearless, genre-defying voices illuminate the strange, the profound, and the deeply human.

Edgar Oliver, a cult favorite of New York’s downtown theatre scene, is a poet, playwright, and performer renowned for his haunting voice and singular tales of longing, memory, and eccentricity. A beloved storyteller at The Moth, Oliver has appeared in films such as That’s Beautiful Frank and Gentlemen Broncos and hosted Odd Folks Home on the Science Channel. His work, both literary and theatrical, captures the gothic beauty of the everyday and the mysterious poetry of being alive.

River L. Ramirez (they/them) is a Philly-based experimental artist, comedian, musician, and writer whose performances defy category. From their Adult Swim special Pervert Everything to roles in HBO’s Los Espookys and Julio Torres’s Problemista, Ramirez brings biting wit and boundless imagination to the stage. Their commissioned works for MoMA, Baryshnikov Arts Center, and Ars Nova blend humor, movement, and music into transcendent, unpredictable storytelling.

Curated and hosted by Joseph Keckler, Golden Hour celebrates boundary-pushing voices in a warm, kaleidoscopic variety format. Past guests have included Charlie Kaufman, Lydia Lunch, Lindy West, Ahamefule Oluo, and Dael Orlandersmith.
