Aqualumina

A joyful convergence of art, music, performance, and light, Aqualumina is an opportunity to celebrate our perch along the Delaware River and the interconnected beauty of the world’s rivers, oceans, coral reefs, icebergs, and rain systems. At the heart of this year's Festival is a luminous procession, where choral music and illuminated sea creatures drift together in a glowing spectacle.

Aqualumina was designed to bring the community together around the dreamy charms of a riverbank at dark. It launched in 2021 with a performance by JUNK in Ancestral Lights, an outdoor dance performance illuminating refugee narratives and kindling light in a time of darkness and displacement, culminating in a joyous communal dance featuring community members carrying illuminated paper lanterns at ArtYard’s Courtyard.
