The Troublemakers have been playing together—and playing up a storm—for nearly a decade. With a sound rooted in trad jazz, hard bop, and beyond, they channel the spirit of the classic quintets while bringing their own modern edge.

This powerhouse lineup features some of Perth’s most compelling young jazz talents: Pierson Snowsill (trumpet/flugelhorn), Josh Parker (tenor sax), Jackson Van Ballegooyen (piano), Tom Berkmann (double bass), and Sam Newman (drums).

Joining them for this special performance is the superb vocalist, Matilda Simcock. After many collaborations in other settings, Matilda steps into the spotlight with The Troublemakers for a night of swinging standards, hard bop gems, and groovy originals.

Each member brings a distinct voice to the ensemble, uniting to create a sound that’s both fresh and deeply rooted in jazz tradition. Whether you're a jazz aficionado or a curious newcomer, this is music that hits you in the soul.
