The Coachman Caddis is a dry fly pattern that imitates adult caddisflies skittering or resting on the water’s surface. Combining the classic Royal Coachman’s flashy elements with the silhouette of a caddis, it uses peacock herl, elk hair, and vibrant accents to catch a trout’s eye in both fast and slow water. Its buoyancy and visibility make it especially effective during evening caddis hatches or in riffled runs. It should be fished with a natural dead drift or slight twitch to mimic the erratic movement of real caddisflies.
