Kunsthallen Skal Contemporary fejrer 5 års jubilæum i samarbejde med Kulturhus Kappelborg.
For at markerer vores 5-års jubilæum inviterer vi til et brag af en fest på Kappelborg! Vi slår dørene op til reception og fejring, videokunst af Luna Lund Jensen, performance af Filip Vest, koncert med Tabloid og DJ’s senere på aftenen.

Drømmer om klitter, og dale af glas af Luna Lund Jensen viste vi første gang på udstillingen Post Oceanic Wonders i 2022, og i dagens anledning kan du opleve det på den store skærm i Skagen Bio. Værket tager udgangspunkt i Råbjerg Mile og den historiske sandflugt i Nordjylland. Her bliver landskabet et billede på både lokal katastrofe og nutidig global ørkendannelse.
Glæd dig også til at opleve perfomance af Filip Vest, som arbejder med queer relationer, identitet, sociale normer og kapital. Vest undersøger i deres praksis hvordan sociale strukturer former vores måder at være i verden på og åbner for alternative fortællinger.
Aftenen byder desuden på koncert med det stjernespækkede Tabloid. Bandet er en samling af fem af landets fremmeste musikere fra pop- og jazzscenen. Som Tabloid skaber de musik, der minder os om ikke at dømme eller begrænse os selv, inspireret af 1980’ernes funk og fusionsjazz med elementer fra alt fra country til J-pop. Bandet er aktuelle med deres tredje album Hot Gossip, som både visuelt og kompositorisk viser dem fra deres mest snappy og eventyrlystne side.

To mark our 5-year anniversary, we invite you to a festive evening at Kappelborg! Join us for a reception and celebration featuring video art by Luna Lund Jensen, a performance by Filip Vest, a concert with Tabloid, and DJs later in the evening.

Dreaming of Dunes and Valleys of Glass was first presented in the exhibition Post Oceanic Wonders in 2022 and will, for this special occasion, be shown on the big screen at Skagen Bio. Taking its point of departure in Råbjerg Mile and the historic sand drift in Northern Jutland, the work frames the landscape as an image of both local catastrophe and contemporary global desertification.
Filip Vest works with queer relations, identity, social norms and capital. Through their practice, Vest explores how social structures shape our ways of being in the world and opens space for alternative narratives.
The evening also features a concert with the star-studded band Tabloid – five of Denmark’s leading musicians from the pop and jazz scene. Inspired by 1980s funk and fusion jazz, and blending elements from country to J-pop, Tabloid creates music that reminds us not to judge or limit ourselves. The band is currently presenting their third album, Hot Gossip, showcasing their most playful and adventurous side.
