Join us for a Night of Nautical Knots
Have fun while becoming Knot tying Pro!
Come tie one on... with rope, that is!
Come early if you need to grab a bite to eat first.
When: Wed, Jan 21 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Where: Dolan’s Pub – Grab a chair and get ready to get your hands salty!
This is a fun, hands-on Boat-Talk evening with 7–10 experienced instructors manning their own Knot-Stations around the pub. Just walk up, join in, and learn at your own pace – no experience needed, all skill levels welcome.
We’ll cover the essential knots every sailor should know:
Reef Knot – The classic square knot
Single & Double Sheet Bends – Joining ropes like a pro
Round Turn & Two Half Hitches – Secure that line!
Bowline & Bowline on the Bight – The king of knots
Clove Hitch – Quick & reliable
Fisherman’s Bend / Anchor Bend – Hold fast to anything
Cleat Hitch – Dock like you mean it
Rolling Hitch – Grip and slide with control
Line Toss
Plus plenty of tips on how, when, and why each knot shines – real-world stories from the sea included! Whether you're a weekend boater, a curious landlubber, or just love a good knot (and a good pint), this is the perfect evening to learn something useful, have a laugh, and make new mates. Bring your curiosity – leave with new skills and maybe a few rope burns! Spots are first-come, first-served at the stations – arrive early for the best pick! See you on the dock... er, bar!
