We are so excited to present a Traditional Paella Dinner complemented with luscious paired wines. At Rehana's we strive to be a space where the local community can gather, socialize, and hopefully, become a part of our community of patrons. This dinner is the quintessential communal experience. Our first courses will be three tapas which go from light to hearty and which lend to starting dialogue among friends, some of whom we came with, and others whom you have met at the table. Our main meal, paella, will be served in authentic paelleras from which all will partake. Paella was originally what is considered a peasant food consisting of what could be foraged, mixed with rice and vegetables, and served family style with everyone eating from the same pan. We have elevated that a bit and will be serving unto plates but all will serve from the same pan. We will finish our meal with a decadent sweet treat. Here is the menu for the evening:
Assortment of Marinated Olives and Feta
Tapas Board with Chorizo, Assorted Cheeses, Marinated Vegetables, Jams, and Chutneys.
Sautéed Spinach with cranberries and pecans
Butter Lettuce Salad with Lemon and Shallot Dressing
Seafood Paella with Fresh Shrimp, Calamari, and Mussels or Vegetarian Paella with Roasted Seasonal Vegetables (served with a glass of Sangria)
Tres Leches Cake
The meal is intended to be satisfying and the conversations enlightening. Join us as we have our first of many suppers with robust conversations which take us out of our comfort zones. Of course there are rules of common courtesy and kindness, as Rehana would have had it, perhaps we will call these "Rehana's Rules" but the purpose of this and all of the ventures at our little restaurant is to fill the belly, expand the food palette, stir the mind, engage in constructive conversations, and enjoy each others' company.
