Situated between San Antonio and Austin, Fredericksburg is often the first stop on a tour of Texasʼs famed Hill Country. Wineries abound in this unique landscape and draw visitors from near and far. But when the city was founded, you were more likely to take a swig from a stein. In 1846, Fredericksburg was founded as part of an effort to establish a German colony within Texas.
Today, you donʼt have to pass through customs to enter Fredericksburg. But on this hunt, you will learn about this Texan townʼs German roots and the strong influences that remain.
