This seminar on deer mitigation in Maryland is designed to help homeowners and gardeners better understand local deer behavior and learn practical, science-based strategies to reduce damage—without creating new problems.Participants will explore why deer populations have increased in Maryland, how suburban development influences deer movement, and what that means for home landscapes, farms, and natural areas. The session will cover a range of management options, including plant selection, fencing and exclusion techniques, repellents, habitat modification, and community-based approaches.
