Whether you've never canned before or you're looking to build confidence in your preservation skills, this beginner-friendly workshop will teach you everything you need to get started.During this two-hour workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of both pressure canning and water bath canning, including when to use each method, food safety principles, proper equipment, jar preparation, processing times, and storage techniques. We'll focus on preserving tomatoes while also exploring the basics of pickling fresh vegetables.Participants will have the opportunity to create their own customized jar of pickles using a selection of fresh vegetables harvested from the farm and a variety of herbs, spices, and flavor additions. We'll discuss how different ingredients influence flavor, texture, and shelf life so you can confidently continue preserving at home.Each attendee will:Learn the basics of pressure canning and water bath canningLearn safe home food preservation techniquesPrepare and can whole peeled tomatoesCreate a customized pint jar of picklesChoose fresh produce and flavor add-ins for their picklesLeave with TWO pint jars they made themselves:?
