The FDA granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation to Biogen’s investigational drug, litifilimab, for cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE), a major milestone for a condition with no targeted treatments currently available. Beyond new drug development, advancements in biologic therapies, improved disease activity monitoring tools, and expanded clinical trial access continue to reshape lupus care, with the Lupus Foundation of America helping accelerate research, strengthen clinical trial infrastructure, and support patient education.With more than $5,300 raised to date, this event has helped support the momentum behind advancements like these.
