GTCO Girls XCel Competitive Team — 2026–2027 Season Evaluations

Are you ready to take your gymnastics journey to the next level? The GTCO Girls XCel Competitive Team is seeking driven, enthusiastic, and coachable athletes to join our award‑winning program for the 2026–2027 season. Our teams consistently rank among the BEST in the state of Ohio, producing numerous State, Regional, and National Champions year after year.

⭐ Who Can Attend Evaluations?

Evaluations are open to currently enrolled GTCO students, age 7 or older (as of June 1st), in our Top Kat and Girls GymFit classes who are eager to become part of our GTCO Competitive Team Family.

📌 Space is limited to the first 20 athletes — early registration is strongly encouraged. Once registration fills up, we will add additional students to our waitlist. Register at www.GTCOhio.com

💫 What are coaches looking for?

Current skill mastery - understanding of current skills learned in class, skill form, ability to perform skills independently within stations

Our goal is to place each athlete where they will be most successful and confident. Level placements are determined by GTCO's team coaching staff. 

🤸 What Is XCEL?

XCEL is a USA Gymnastics (USAG) program offering a flexible, athlete‑centered alternative to the traditional Jr. Development Program. It allows gymnasts to perform a wider variety of skills while still following level guidelines. Athletes may move between XCel and the JD program as they advance - movement between XCel and JD is a decision between the athlete, parent & coaches.

FAQ:

What should my athlete wear?

Athletes should wear a leotard (spandex shorts or leggings permitted). Hair should be pulled up into a ponytail or bun. No jewelry. Athletes will go in barefoot. 

What should by athlete bring?

A good attitude and a readiness to work! And a water bottle.
