Somethingski Trio
is a new musical project by vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Nikodem Soszyński, known among others from the band Freeborn Brothers, with whom he gained wide recognition, performing hundreds, even thousands of concerts across Europe and around the world.
In 2020, their first album, titled “THINGS,” was released and hit the market at the beginning of 2021. One of the songs from this album, titled “Na Dolinach,” gained popularity, reaching the top spot on the Podkarpacka Hit List. This album consists of ten tracks showcasing a variety of musical styles—from folk and rock to dance hits reminiscent of Polish popular music from the 1970s.
In 2022, in collaboration with award-winning folk singer Daria Kosiek, Somethingski Trio recorded and released the album “PUSZCZA.” Based on traditional folk music from the Lasowiacy region, the material was performed in a modern style. Thanks to this album, the band gained recognition and qualified for the prestigious “Mikołajki Folkowe 2022” competition.
At the beginning of 2023, the band’s second album, titled “Howl We Are Free,” was released, promoted by two singles: “Holy, Holy” and “Od Północy do Południa.” The latter remained on the Radio Rzeszów hit list for several weeks.
So far, the band has had the opportunity to perform in various European countries, including Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, France, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and Brazil. Additionally, the band has played at many outstanding festivals such as Muddy Roots Festival 2022, Roots in Het Park 2022, Broken Necks Festival 2023, Jarmark Garncarski 2022, Zilleghem Folk Festival 2023, Cursus Festival 2023, and Rockowisko 2023. Furthermore, the band had the pleasure of performing at renowned clubs in Europe, such as MEZZ Breda and Patronaat Haarlem in the Netherlands, as well as De Kaai in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Energetic songs, interwoven with humor and more reflective compositions, guarantee an excellent experience during Somethingski Trio’s concerts.
