What's this about?

Over 40,000 evictions are filed every year in Kentucky, and up to 45% of those eviction filings are dismissed–yet even these dismissed evictions follow you around for the rest of your life. Some of those filings also list minors–young people under the age of 18 who aren’t even old enough to sign a lease. At Welcome Home Kentucky, we know THAT AIN'T RIGHT!

On Wednesday, March 11 in Frankfort, we'll show up in full force alongside our neighbors at the "Welcome Home Kentucky" coalition to Frankfort to make sure this winnable bill gets over the finish line.

We will try to meet with as many lawmakers as we can, and start to send the message that there is STRONG public support for dismissed eviction expungement, across the state.

What to expect
You'll show up to the Capitol Annex–Room 125–which will require you to a valid photo ID and to enter through a metal detector. Try to arrive by 9 a.m.

We will eat breakfast, talk about the flow of the day, go off to meet our legislators, and then come back to debrief, go over next steps, and eat lunch! Anyone who would like to set up a meeting with their own legislator can also do that, with our support.
