# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Save the Songbirds
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 17 Oct, 2026 at 11:00 am (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: A major report published in 2019 demonstrated widespread population declines of North American birds, with a net loss of 2.9 billion adult breeding birds since 1970, including many common and familiar species. These losses indicate an urgent need to address the causes of population decline, and there are many simple actions you can take to contribute to the conservation of birds and other wildlife. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has released Seven Simple Actions most people can take to help support bird populations. Additionally, Wild Birds Unlimited has partnered with the National Wildlife Federation to champion their Wildlife Habitat program, which allows you to certify your yard as Certified Wildlife Habitat. For this in-store presentation, our employee Tanner Shepard will discuss the Seven Simple Actions provided CLO as well as the requirements for the Wildlife Habitat certification. Come join us to learn how you can help Save the Songbirds!

This event is free and open to all. If you are interested in attending, please contact the store to let us know. You can call us at 502-352-2891 or email us at wbufrankfort@gmail.com.

He has also been an employee at Wild Birds Unlimited in Frankfort since it opened in March of 2016, and has continued to work here while not in school.
