✨ About the Event
A structured summer group program supporting neurodivergent children, pre-teens, and adolescents in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Sessions use expressive and body-based methods with minimal reliance on verbal participation, making the program accessible for individuals who find traditional talk-based settings challenging.


🌱 What to Expect

FOCUS AREAS
 

•       Emotional regulation and nervous system awareness

•       Positive neurodivergent identity and self-acceptance

•       Social connection and peer confidence

•       Executive functioning support (organization, transitions, daily structure)

•       Confidence and self-esteem building

 

THERAPEUTIC METHODS

 Art Therapy (all groups)

Adapted by developmental stage — sensory and play-based for younger children; identity-focused and expressive (mask-making, collage, self-portraits) for adolescents.

Sand Tray Therapy (all groups)

Participants use miniature figures in sand to create symbolic scenes. A powerful non-verbal tool for emotional processing and self-expression — no verbal communication required.

Archery Therapy (ages 15–22)

A structured, body-based clinical intervention that builds impulse control, present-moment focus, frustration tolerance, and self-confidence through a mindful draw-pause-release ritual. Healing occurs through the body — no verbal communication required.

Mindfulness & Somatic Grounding (all groups)

Simple breathing and body-awareness exercises woven throughout each session to support regulation before, during, and after activities.



🧠 Led By
Soodabeh (Soodi) Yavari

 Wholistic Wellness is honored to welcome Soodabeh Yavari for a limited 8-week practicum experience this summer, offering a unique opportunity for clients to engage in deeply integrative, globally informed care.

Soodabeh is a counselor and clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working across Iran, Germany, and the United States. She holds two master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Guidance & Counseling and is currently pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Governors State University.
