Grab your sweetie and join us on Valentine's Day for the 12th Betsie Bay Frozen 5K!

It may be cold, but that's part of the fun! There's nothing like the thrill of running through crisp winter air, surrounded by fellow runners, with the finish line in sight. Whether you're a seasoned runner or joining for the first time, the Betsie Bay Frozen 5K is the perfect way to embrace winter and get moving. 

Known for its frosty conditions and gusts off Lake Michigan--making it's true test for "crazy" winter adventurers. Despite the chilly weathers, the race is a fun and community-driven event that welcomes participants of all ages and paces. 

Awards will be given to the first three places overall and first place in each age category: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80 and up.

All participants receive a lightweight hoodie and a finishers medal.

Packet pick-up takes place at the American Legion in Frankfort on Friday, February 13, from 4-6PM and again on race day, one and a half hours before the start. Busing to the start will be provided by Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools and Benzie Bus.

The course starts at the top of Elberta’s beautiful lookout of Lake Michigan and continues down the hill through Elberta, around the bend, along Betsie Bay via scenic M-22, then heads into Frankfort at Main Street with a finish at the other end of downtown, just before you reach the lighthouse. 

Donated gifts from our community partners will randomly be given away to registered participants on race day.
