 This is a novel about Dawn Edelstein, a death doula who, after surviving a plane crash, is forced to confront the two paths her life could have taken: the one she has with her husband and daughter in Boston, or the one she abandoned in Egypt with her former love, an archaeologist. The story explores themes of life, death, love, and missed opportunities, using the ancient Egyptian concept of two paths to the afterlife as a central metaphor for the choices we make.
