2026 Arapahoe County Regional High School Mock Trial Tournament

Date:  February 20 & 21
Location:  Arapahoe County Justice Center, 7325 S. Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112

Get ready for a thrilling weekend of legal prowess and student advocacy at the Arapahoe County Regional High School Mock Trial Tournament! This in-person event promises a dynamic showcase of courtroom skills and teamwork.

Volunteer Schedule: 

Friday, February 20

1st Round: 12:00 PM – Volunteer check-in, orientation and courtroom assignments (lunch provided). Round starts @ 1:00 PM.  
2nd Round: 3:15 PM – Volunteer check-in, orientation, and courtroom assignments. Round starts @ 4:00 PM.

Saturday, February 21

3rd Round: 8:00 AM – Volunteer check-in, orientation, and courtroom assignments (bagels & coffee). Round starts @ 9:00 AM. 
4th Round: 11:45 AM - Volunteer check-in, orientation and courtroom assignments (lunch provided). Round starts @ 12:30 PM.

Volunteer Roles: 

Presiding Judge: (3 to 4 hours) Current or retired Colorado Judge or mock trial expert. Acts as the voice of the panel, controls courtroom conduct, and supervises time constraints.

Scoring Panelist: (3 to 4 hours) Three attorneys, paralegals, or community members. Scores based on presentation, not legal merits. Completes a performance rating score sheet.

Courtroom Monitor: Ensures no communication between students and outsiders, no food or drink in the courtroom. Monitors trial proceedings and reports any issues to the Mock Trial Sub-Committee.

Volunteer Orientation:

An orientation will be provided before each round to familiarize volunteers with their roles. No prior Mock Trial experience is necessary.
