Blarney Island on Grass Lake (Antioch, IL) is the only location in the world where high performance drag boat racing takes place every Thursday Evening, from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 6PM until Sunset.

This is bare-knuckles, heads-up, ‘race-what-you-brung’ drag racing that is fun for the entire family. The racecourse length is 800 feet on Grass lake. The notoriously choppy waters have given Blarney Island racers a reputation for being both fast and fearless. All ages welcome until sunset.

Come by boat or grab a shuttle from the Port of Blarney starting at 5PM on race nights.

THE FINE PRINT:
All races are weather dependent, cancellations and other updates will be communicated via our social media channels. End times vary based upon sunset times; all races will end 15 minute prior to sunset weekly. Spectators of all ages are welcome through the final race of the evening/sunset. Boat parking in the "horse shoe" in front of Blarney Island is reserved for racing watercraft only. For your safety and the safety of our drivers swimming is NOT permitted during the races.
