Come join us for Cardboard Boat Races and the Youth Fishing Derby at Lakefront Park!
Youth Fishing Derby 9am-11am
Bring out your kids for a fun day of catching fish. There will be prizes for biggest fish in each age group and biggest overall fish. Age groups are 0-8y, 9-15y, and 16+. Participants 0-15y do not need a license. Participants 16+ require a valid IL Fishing License. Please bring your own fishing poles.
Chain O'Lakes Fishing Club will be onsite running a fishing swap meet, hosting mini seminars on knot tying, rods, & reels, and showcasing local fishing guide companies.
Cardboard Boat Race 12pm-2pm
Enjoy some music with DJ Kathy and test out your craftsmanship to build a cardboard boat to race against others. This will be a fun event for people of all ages, whether they are sailing their vessel or cheering on from the shoreline.
$15 Boat Registration - Includes boat race & trophy for 1st & 2nd Fastest Boat & Best Design, Overall Winner for Fastest Sinking & Mayor's Choice
$30 Boat Registration & Kit - Includes registration, trophy, 1 roll of duct tape, box cutter, & 8 x 4 ft. cardboard
