ULTIMATE TRUCK CHALLENGE (2)
Inspired by full-size events like the Top Truck Challenge and shows such as Truck Night in America, the Ultimate Truck Challenge, or UTC, is an event that features a series of four challenges designed to test all aspects of a truck.
To win, a truck will have to be agile, durable, powerful, and possess speed and handling.
☆Truck Class Rules:☆
1/10-scale trucks only
One truck per participant
Two metal frame rails are required from front axle to rear of skid plate, or to rear of truck as a typical class 2 or 1 truck.
Truggy and exo-cages allowed.
No tube frame vehicles such as trail buggies
Two axles only. No 6X6
No MOA
4S battery limit
Same battery must be used for all courses with no charging.
5.25 inch maximum tire height (manufacturer spec)
Dig, multi-speed transmissions, cutting brakes allowed.
4WS allowed
Same truck, setup, and parts for each course. No modification, tuning, or parts changes to truck other than approved repairs. No gearing, tire, motor, battery spec, weight, etc. changes.
Wheelbase, shock and spring settings, etc. must stay the same.
Running order will be randomly selected for each course
Drivers must run in selected order. No swapping positions. No moving up or down the selected order.
1-minute grace will be granted if competitor is not ready. After 1-minute, if competitor fails to be at start line, a DNS and zero points will be awarded

No tracked vehicles
Only winch points on course allowed. No winch sticks. Winch anchors allowed if attached to vehicle.
☆ Courses ☆
Speed Course
-timed run over a variety of obstacles and terrain. No winching allowed. Any truck that stops and can't continue will be a DNF and zero points awarded. Contact with boundary line will result in a 60-second penalty and truck must immediately return to course.
Rollovers that result in a stopped truck that can't continue will be a DNF and zero points awarded,
☆ Rock Crawl ☆
-5-gate timed course. 8-minute time limit. A DNF will receive a score of 20 minutes with one minute deducted for every gate cleared. Gates must be run in order and cleared in the intended direction. A gate marker is dead after contact, but other marker is still live. Two tires (one front and one rear) must pass through gate. Time starts when vehicle breaks starting line. Time stops when vehicle breaks "line" of final gate.
Penalties:
Gate -30 seconds. Truck or driver counts as contact
Winch, dig, 4WS- No penalty
☆ Barrel Race ☆
-Three-barrel course with single start/finish line. Time starts when vehicle breaks starting line. Time stops when vehicle breaks finish line. Truck must traverse the course layout as intended. Barrels will be indicated as 1, 2, and 3. Drivers can start with the left or right barrel. No penalty for reverse, dig, 4WS. No winching allowed. Any truck that stops and can't continue will be a DNF and zero points awarded. Rollovers that result in a stopped truck that can't continue will be a DNF and zero points awarded.
☆Deadweight "Dump Truck" Pull ☆
- timed deadweight pull for 20 feet with incline. Time starts when vehicle breaks starting line. Time stops when vehicle breaks finish line. Trucks that fail to pull the full distance will have distance measured from rear-most edge of dump truck to the start line. Competitors will be ranked by time and then by distance. No winching allowed. Contact with boundary line will result in an immediate stoppage with distance measured. Scale proportional hitch may be added to facilitate attaching dump truck. No slack in hookup chain at start. No stopping and starting to jerk chain. Hitch failure at the pulling vehicle will result in a DNF. Mechanical failure of the hook, chain, or pulled apparatus will result in a new pull. Any restarts will be at discretion of the judge only
Scoring:
The winner of each event will be awarded with a points value based on the total event participants. If ten trucks are participating, the winner of each course will receive 10 points. Second place will receive 9 points, etc. DNFs will receive zero points
After all four courses are run, if a tie for first occurs, the trucks will have a head-to-head tug-o-war to determine the winner.
