This interactive course takes fire behavior beyond the textbook and into real-world application. Participants wil review fundamental fire dynamics concepts, compare the effects of ventilation, and discuss and identify flow paths as they develop. The class will cover "BAG"ing fires while taking an outside-the-box to inside-the-boxes approach, and examine how water application infulences interior conditions. Thermal imaging camera use will be reviewed to provide context for the live fire portion that follows. By connecting these principles to tactical decisions, firefighters will leave with a clearer understanding of how to read, predict and control the fire environment.
