đď¸ Cancer Benefit for Jodi Bakkum â¤ď¸ Bingo ⢠Meat Raffle ⢠Silent Auction đď¸
When a neighbor hurts, a small town shows up. And right now, Jodi Bakkum needs us more than ever. đ
Jodi was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon and rectal cancer in June of 2023. Since August 18 of that year, she has endured round after round of chemotherapy. Some critical treatments werenât even an optionâinsurance wouldnât cover them. Along the way, sheâs faced countless CT and PET scans, biopsies, and cancer that has spread to her liver. She went through radiation therapy and multiple liver ablations, yet the battle kept pressing forward.
In March of 2025, CT scans brought more devastating news: disease progression involving her lymph nodes, liver, pancreas, spleen, and peritoneal carcinomatosis. Multiple new nodules were discovered in both lungs, and blood clots followed. Through it all, Jodi has endured extreme fatigue, nausea, and painful gastrointestinal struggles. Sheâs needed transfusions for potassium, magnesium, and red blood cells because her body has been so worn down by chemotherapy.
For years, Jodi worked faithfully at her manufacturing jobâeven while going through treatment. Her doctors had to convince her to take medical leave because her strong work ethic wouldnât let her quit. Even then, she tried to return to work, but with up to three appointments a week and the relentless progression of disease, it simply wasnât possible. Reduced income weighs heavy, and the bills pile higher. Gas for constant trips to appointments, prescriptions, and medical expenses never stop coming.
Jodi has never had much, but you would never hear her complain. She is known for her big heart, always ready to do anything for anyone. She has stayed positive, clinging to hope for herself and her son, even as her health has made life harder than ever before.
This is where we come in. This is where community shines its brightest. đ
