# Event Details - **Event Name**: August Community Healing Ritual - MINERAL - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 22 Aug, 2026 at 04:00 pm – Sat, 22 Aug, 2026 at 07:00 pm (-05:00) - **Event Description**: For the August Community Healing Ritual at Kinstone we will gather at the Great Stone Circle and step into rich and inviting circle of standing stone elders. In this setting, we will connect with the wisdom we carry in our bones. Each person is born with deep memories that they bring with them selves into this life. Bones carry the stories of those who came before us. The bones of the Earth are the minerals and rocks that we see. According to my teacher, Elder Malidoma Somé, "To know the true story of our earth, including the story of ourselves, is to listen to the rocks. They are the conduit through which earth passes information onto us." The Mineral element reconnects us with our true essence and purpose. It reminds us of the unique brilliance that longs to move through us, and it awakens the stories our spirits are here to tell. About Community Healing Rituals at Kinstone: Monthly schedule: 2026 Rituals will be the fourth Saturday each month from June 27 through October 24 Time: 4:00pm to 7:00pm If you’d like to learn more about the language of ritual, join us in the parking lot before each ritual to help with set up and planning. We gather at 2 pm prior to the ritual for Learning the Language of Ritual. Our hope is to keep these accessible to any who are feeling the call to community and nature-based healing. If the cost of entrance to Kinstone is prohibitive, please reach out, we have a scholarship fund for those in need. “Ritual is called for because our soul communicates things to us that the body translates as need, or want, or absence. So we enter into ritual in order to respond to the call of the soul.” ― Malidoma Patrice Somé, Ritual: Power, Healing and Community During these events, we will come together and create a ritual that emerges from the rhythm of all who are gathered based on the group's current needs, and the guidance and support of the elemental beings of Fire, Water, Earth, Nature, and Minerals. What gets created in group ritual arises out of the participants voices. Together, we will create something NEW based on the relationships each participant carries with them into our circle from their own inner wisdom that may or may not be already known. This event is highly participatory. You are asked to arrive with an open heart and mind and a willingness to learn from the Elements themselves as well as willingness to support your fellow participants. Alcohol and drug use are not allowed during these events. All are welcome. No experience is necessary. My awareness and knowledge of ritual and my relationships with the elements have been inspired and encouraged by my elders, Dagara Elder Malidoma Somé, and Elder Theresa Sykes Brittany.
