# Event Details

- **Event Name**: AlterCOP 30 Australia
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 16 Nov, 2025 at 10:00 pm – Thu, 20 Nov, 2025 at 06:00 am
- **Event Description**: Co-founded by The Matcha Initiative and The Transmutation Principle, AlterCOP Summits aim to keep corporate and the public informed of COP proceedings and outcomes, facilitate discourse and knowledge learning on corporate sustainability in a localised context, foster collaboration among various actors (professionals, academics, youth, NPOs, community groups, and policymakers) and inspire action.

In 2024 AlterCOP 29 in Singapore brought together over 2,300 participants and 250 speakers across 130 sessions, proving that meaningful, high-impact climate engagement can happen outside traditional structures—and thrive.

As Australia prepares to potentially host COP31, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to open up climate dialogue to all and show that local actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change are already happening across different communities.

Organised by People For Nature, AlterCOP 30 Australia is a grassroots climate summit that brings together diverse communities to explore and act on climate justice, decarbonisation, and resilience, offering an inclusive, science-based platform for localised climate action.

Running alongside the United Nations (UN) COP30 agenda, the four-day event will foster grassroots ownership of global climate goals while amplifying local and regional engagement across Australia. With the main event hosted in Brisbane, we'll have satellite events happening across other parts of the country.
