He covered the financial crunch, referendums on independence and Brexit, the economic impact of the Covid pandemic, various sectors of the Scottish economy, public sector finances and government economic policy.Previously, he was Political Editor at The Herald for five years and had the same role for four years at the Sunday Herald, co-authoring the 'Political Guide to Modern Scotland'. He worked at The Scotsman as Features and Arts Editor, Education Correspondent and as the reporter covering the Highlands and Islands.
