Exploring different types of writing as well as different approaches to writer’s craft, these practical workshops are designed to help get you writing all year long.Session 2 - Nature Writing Masterclass with Neil Ansell (Wednesday 20th May)Neil Ansell is a writer who asks us to examine ourselves as individuals who are part of nature, rather than just being on the outside looking in. His latest work THE EDGE OF SILENCE, nominated for the Highland Book Prize, charts his mission to hear rare and elusive creatures against the backdrop of his own progressive hearing loss.We are delighted to welcome Neil for the second of our Spring Writing Workshops for a session that will inspire both those people looking to write directly about nature, and those for whom writing landscape might just be a part of the puzzle. The session will include both a short discussion ofNeil’s work and workshop exercises that will draw on his expertise and encourage you to get writing about nature and the world around us.It is a rare treat to get to meet such a writer up close - the Highland Bookshop thanks the Highland Book Prize / Moniack Mhor for their support in putting this event on at a greatly discounted price.This is the second in a duo of workshops. The first on Wednesday 13th May is focused on Writing People. This session is sponsored by the Highland Book Prize. If you book Session 2 only you receive the subsidised rate, or by booking onto Session 1 you get a free place on Session 2.
